Mladen Nakić (1962.) was born in Zagreb, Croatia. He holds a university degree in political science from the Faculty of Political Science, University of Zagreb, a master’s degree in international relations and a doctorate in international relations and national security.
After a short museum career, he continued his career in the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Croatia, holding a number of positions from Head of the Office for military attaches and bilateral relations to Croatian defense attache in the USA and Canada and head of the Arms Control Center.
Afterwards, he continued to work as a diplomat in the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia.
He has participated as a key speaker/lecturer at a large number of conferences in Croatia and abroad.
He is the author of the book “The United States and the Global Environment” and number of scientific articles in the field of international relations, foreign policy and diplomacy.
He is a lecturer at Libertas International University, the Croatian Military Academy and the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was elected to the scientific title of research associate as well as associate professor.
He was the initiator and first director of the George C. Marshall Club Croatia (Alumni). He volunteers as a member of the Center for International Studies. He was one of the initiators and founders of the Association of Croatian Diplomats. He volunteers as a Vice-president of the Atlantic Council of Croatia.
He was awarded by several decorations and medals.
